And mumrecipeguide is my little corner of the internet!
I launched mumrecipeguide in the summer of 2015 while I was still a full‑time marketing manager at a tech startup in Austin. Between conference calls and diaper changes, I started jotting down quick, kid‑friendly meals on the back of grocery receipts. The first post – a one‑pot mac & cheese that saved a chaotic Tuesday night – went live on June 3, 2015, and the comments section filled up faster than I could stir the sauce.
Fast forward to today, and mumrecipeguide has become a tiny community of more than 45,000 monthly visitors and 1,200 tested recipes. In 2022 I published my first cookbook, “Simple Suppers for Busy Families,” which sold out its initial print run of 2,000 copies within three weeks. Our newsletter now reaches 10,000 subscribers, and we’ve added a seasonal “Pantry‑Raid” video series that averages 8,000 views per episode. All of this grew from a single photo of a toddler‑covered apron and a lot of trial‑and‑error in my kitchen.
I live in the hills of Austin, Texas, with my husband Mark and our three kids – Lily (9), Sam (7) and baby Milo (2). When I’m not whisking together a new dinner idea, you’ll find me tending to my tomato garden, hunting for vintage records at local shops, or perfecting Sunday‑morning pancakes for the family. One quirky habit I still keep is the battered notebook I used for that first mac & cheese recipe; it sits on my counter as a reminder that every great dish starts with a simple idea.
